The original of this extraordinary piece was excavated by Dr. Earl Morris at Aztec Ruins, New Mexico in 1916. It was found in room 193, West Ruin, is the only example of a fish theme I have encountered in the Northern Anasazi world. The yucca bale type handle is probable although the original could have been longer and perhaps some other material. Piece #1132 is sold , but I make one a year so contact me for availability if you are interested.
